Our Story

Goeie Hoop Vervoer Spoeddiens is more than a courier company. It is a story of legacy, revival, and relentless forward momentum.

The GHVS journey began in the 1990s, when Leon Beets purchased Goeie Hoop Vervoer Spoeddiens and grew it from a small business into a formidable player in the South African courier industry. Through hard work, vision, and determination, he built the company into a serious competitor to larger and more established operators.

This success eventually led to the business becoming part of The Laser Group. As recorded at the time: "In 1999 Time Freight was acquired by The Laser Group and in April 2002 amalgamated with Goeie Hoop Vervoer (a Western / Northern Cape operator). Time Freight thus became a national road express operator, trading under Laser Logistics (Pty) Limited." From 2002 to 2019, the GHVS name was effectively placed on hold.

But the story was not over.

In 2020, Goeie Hoop Vervoer Spoeddiens was revived by Hendrik Beets (son of Leon Beets), together with Sean Vosloo, Wade Grimbeek, Awie Cordier, and Karel Cordier. What returned was not simply an old name — it was the rebirth of a respected brand, reawakened with fresh purpose, new energy, and bold ambition.

This revival gave rise to the phrase "Blast from the Past" — a trusted name from history brought back to life for a new era.

In 2026, Bryan Grimbeek and Jake Grimbeek joined the company, adding fresh drive to an already fast-moving business. With this new chapter came the adoption of the YesJa slogan — a powerful reflection of the mindset behind GHVS.

YesJa is more than a name. It is an attitude. It speaks to a culture where the answer is always Yes or Ja — built on positivity, solutions, urgency, and a willingness to go the extra mile.
